Shared Lunch
Term 3 ends Wednesday 23 September. After a short lesson, we will have a shared lunch. Please bring a plate of food to share.
Food should be:
・Easy to share
・Safe at room temperature
・On a plate or in a container
If you cannot prepare any food, please still come and eat with us. There will be plenty for everyone.
Welcome
Welcome to our ESOL English conversation classes! My name is Rob, and I am one of the pastors here at Mt Albert Baptist Church, and I have the privilege of interacting with all the wonderful students and staff!
We are delighted that you have made the big decision to make New Zealand home, and join us for our English conversation classes. Learning will be a big step in helping you adapt well to life in NZ and enjoy life here. So keep learning English and use it as much as you can. God bless you.
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
ESOL Classes
Our ESOL English Conversation Program offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes. We follow the New Zealand school terms — four terms a year, each lasting 9–11 weeks. Classes are held every Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and include a free morning tea. Each term features a field trip and ends with a shared lunch. The cost is $20 per term.

ESOL Students
Our ESOL students come from many different countries. Listen to their experiences of our classes in English or in their own languages.
ESOL Enrolment
Anyone is welcome to join our ESOL classes—there are no visa or residency requirements.
Please come 15 minutes before class (9:30 am) to register in person. You can pay by EFTPOS, or bring exactly $20 for registration.
Nametag
Please pick up your nametag from the table in the foyer before class and return it to the nametag box when you leave. This helps us keep an accurate record of attendance.

WeChat Group
We have a very active ESOL group on WeChat. Two Kiwi native speakers currently help students practise speaking every day. We also share videos about New Zealand culture, fun English, and music to support learning. You can join the group for free when you register for the course.
Parking
We have two car parks – one accessible from New North Road and one from Alberton Avenue.
New North Car Park
Do not park in space A (Toy Library) or on the yellow lines B.
Alberton Car Park
Do not park within the yellow frames.
Free Public Parking
Plenty of free public parking is available on Wairere Ave, Kitenui Ave, Alberton Ave, and other nearby streets.
